Welcome Jonathan Zimman as RAMS Chief Financial Officer

RAMS is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Zimman, as Chief Financial Officer of Richmond Area Multi-Services (RAMS).

Jonathan Zimman has over 30 years of experience as a finance professional with Fortune 500 companies, venture-backed start-ups, and not-for profit organizations.

Prior to RAMS, Mr. Zimman has served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of The Arc San Francisco, one of the Bay Area’s largest providers of services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, since 2014. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer of San Francisco AIDS Foundation, a leading AIDS service organization.

Before working in the non-profit sector, Mr. Zimman served as CFO of several venture-backed technology companies, including: Posit Science, a leading developer of scientifically-validated brain fitness programs; SiteRock, an ecommerce managed-services provider that is now part of NaviSite; and Total Entertainment Network, a pioneering online game community site subsequently renamed Pogo and now a part of Electronic Arts. Earlier in his career, he held various financial management positions at Western Union, Warner Cable, and American Broadcasting Companies.

Mr. Zimman also has completed over 20 years of service as a director or trustee of several non-profit organizations including the National AIDS Memorial, Multimedia Development Group, New Israel Fund/New Generations, Daily Pennsylvanian, and Big Apple Performing Arts.

Mr. Zimman earned his MBA degree from Harvard University and his BA degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He and his husband, Glenn Roberts, are inveterate travelers and enthusiastic cyclists and split their time between San Francisco and Sonoma County.

The Executive Leadership Team at RAMS also wishes to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Acting Chief Financial Officer Lenora Williams, who has steadfastly guided the financial operations at RAMS through this transition and recruitment period. We appreciate her continued support in ensuring a successful transition for RAMS.

Mr. Zimman will begin his position in the official capacity on August 20, 2018. We look forward to his financial leadership at RAMS, and his continued contributions to the San Francisco community.

Peer Specialist Mental Health Certificate -- Now Accepting Applications for Fall 2018 Peer Specialist Mental Health Certificate Entry Course

RAMS, in collaboration with San Francisco State University (SFSU) Department of Counseling, is excited to announce that the Peer Specialist Mental Health Certificate Program is currently accepting applications for the RAMS/SFSU Fall 2018 Peer Specialist Mental Health Certificate Entry Course!

Funded by the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), the Peer Specialist Mental Health Certificate Entry Course provides a 12-week intensive program that offers training and education for individuals, and family members of individuals, that have accessed behavioral health services & who are interested in (or are currently) providing peer counseling, advocacy and support services in the behavioral health field in San Francisco. Having already successfully completed 16 cohort cycles, the Entry Course has graduated over 230 participants, the majority of whom are actively engaging in work, volunteer, and educational opportunities as a direct result of taking the course. This program is free of cost for the attendee, with books and materials included, and a modest stipend is provided upon completion of the course.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are at least 18 years of age and a resident of San Francisco,
  • Have successfully completed at least a High School education or GED,
  • Are interested in helping people in a behavioral health setting, and
  • Are able to attend 12 weeks of classes, which will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays (10AM-2PM).
  • The Peer Specialist Mental Health Certificate program is funded by the San Francisco Department of Public Health with Mental Health Services Act (Prop. 63) funds. As such, the course is designed for individuals (or family members) with personal experience with behavioral health services.
